Live From Downtown it’s First Friday

Candlelight Walk Through Ancient Redwoods

28th Annual Candlelight Walk through the ancient redwoods, Friday & Saturday, December 1st & 2nd, 5-8 pm, Prairie Creek Redwood State Park visitor center.  Dress warmly.  Cost: $10/person; 12 years and under are free.  Sponsored by Redwood Parks Conservancy.  Saturday’s walk is full, call 707-464-9150 to see if there is still room on Friday’s walk.

Participants will enjoy a ranger-led walk through the ancient redwood forest lit by 200 luminarias, a warm campfire, storytelling sponsored by the North Coast Storytellers Association, then return to the Prairie Creek Visitor Center for refreshments.  Participants are also encouraged to join in the friendly competition of the annual silent auction and raffle.

Winter Concert

December 3rd.  This annual December concert begins at 3:00pm.  Admission for these concerts is $10.00 presale/$12.00 at the door for adults; students through grade 12 will be admitted free.  Tickets may be purchased at Del Norte Office Supply or at the door.  (There is also a 7:00pm concert in Brookings on Monday, December 4th, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1200 Easy Street.)

The concert will feature a variety of pieces under the direction of Dan Sedgwick.

The Curry/Del Norte Orchestra is sponsored by the Curry/Del Norte Orchestra Guild, associate members and Southwestern Oregon Community College.  Orchestra members are all local musicians who volunteer their time and talents to make this orchestra possible.  Participants come from the Oregon communities of Ophir, Gold Beach and Brookings, and California communities of Smith River, Gasquet and Crescent City.  Many hours of weekly rehearsals are spent preparing for these concerts in order to share some of the world’s most beautiful music with residents of our communities.

Sea Cruise Weekend is full of great things to do! Starting Downtown Friday at 4PM with Show & Shine and Live from Downtown: it’s First Friday! Blues Brews & Cruise Friday from 6 to 9PM at the Clock Tower Parking Lot. Beachfront Park on Saturday for the car show, the Sea Cruise Dance at the Fairgrounds Saturday night, and the Poker Run on Sunday.

The Blues, Brews and Cruise will be held in the evening, after the Show ‘n’ Shine.  It features live blues music, microbrews & food and a closed sanctioned cruise (limited to Sea Cruise entrants).  The Blues & Brews will be held in the parking lot at the corner of 3rd & K Streets.

6:00pm – 8:00pm – Closed sanctioned cruise around downtown Crescent City

5:00pm – 9:00pm – Brews & Food featuring local craft beer by Port O’Pints Brewing Company & SeaQuake Brewing

6:00pm – 7:00pm – DJ music

7:00pm – 9:00pm – Live music by Brad Wilson & the Rollin’ Blues Thunder Band

26th Annual Sea Cruise Car Show

26th Annual Sea Cruise

Join us for a Show ‘n’ Shine in downtown Crescent City on Friday from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.  Wander down 3rd Street between G & K Streets to view classic cars up close.

After the Show ‘n’ Shine, a sanctioned closed cruise, limited to vehicles which are registered for the car show, will go through downtown Crescent City as part of the Blues, Brews & Cruise event, which will feature a blues band, microbrews and food.   For more information on the Blues, Brews & Cruise go to www.delnorte.org/event/blues-brews-cruise/

The Car Show is in Beachfront Park on Saturday and also features live music.  Judging will be between 10:00am and noon; awards are announced at 3:00pm.  Food and marketplace vendors will be open throughout the day.
