We are all gearing up for another great Salmon Season here in Del Norte County. Season runs from August 29 to September 7, 2009. The entire Del Norte County coastline has been approved this year for Chinook Salmon sport fishing and we couldn't be happier as it is practically the only place to access the sport in the entire state of California. It's time to get your boat tuned up and start packing the cooler! Limit is two fish per day with a 24 inch minimum size requirement.
The Crescent City Harbor is a great place to put in for a day on the water. Bring your own rig or charter a trip with our commercial boat that is available right at Crescent City Harbor. The folks at Englund Marine can help you out with permits, gear and bait and even set you up with that charter boat.
Use this site to help plan your fishing trip. Stay in a campground and enjoy our gorgeous National and State Parks. Many rental cabins are also available. Or relax in a nice hotel or inn after your day on the water.
Del Norte County is located in the northern most part of the state of California and enjoys hundreds of miles of Pacific Coast beaches and coastline. Our climate is temperate due to our proximity to the Pacific Coast and stays comfortable in the summer, when inland temperatures soar above one hundred degrees! Our rivers are wild to mild and full of trout, salmon and stripers. Learn more about our rivers and coast.
