Sponsored by the Smith River Kiwanis Club, the fish hatchery is designed populate the native runs of steelhead trout and chinook salmon in the Smith River. Fish are at the hatchery all year.

Free Tours: Monday through Friday, 9 to 4

Location: The hatchery is located at, 255 N. Fred Haight Drive near the post office in the historic town of Smith River. The town is located only eight miles south of the Oregon border and 13 miles north of Crescent City and adjacent to U.S. Hwy. 101. The hatchery lies three miles east of the mouth of the Smith River.
